Home Business – The Chameleon Wins Again

For anyone who has made decision that they will be successful in home business, they will also need to accept change. With an online business’ existence being 100% dependent on the market which it serves, once the market changes, the business must also change to remain relevant to the market. Thus, if we fail to anticipate change, and adapt to it quickly, we will not succeed in home business.

I am convinced that each and every one of you have encountered at least one individual who has attempted to fight back against the computer age. This individual has outright refused to learn how to send an e-mail, much less turn a computer on. If you have not encountered such an individual, try looking at the legal industry. There are several old school lawyers who have to record what they want their e-mail to say into a microphone, and have their secretary type and send the e-mail. I am not sure how a person could allow themselves to become so handicapped.

Unlike the lawyer resistant to change, you as a home business owner cannot pretend as though technological advancements do not exist. If you do so, someone else will take this technology, offer a better product or service to the niche market which you both share, and take steps to make your market share, their market share. Thus, if you are someone who at times faces challenges when change comes about, you should analyze the following.

1. Well your first option is to ignore change, and continue doing what has worked in the past. I really do not advise that you do this. Rather, what you need to look at is what is causing your behavior. More often than not, your resistance to change stems from a fear of new circumstances. This fear is usually generated from a concern that you will not be able to make yourself competent to operate effectively in a new environment. Choosing this option is akin to deciding to let your home business fail.

2. Perhaps if you are resistant to change, this next option is for you. Sometimes if people gradually implement change, they are able to see the benefits which such change provides. As a result, they come to eventually fully accept a new way of doing things.

3. The third possibility is the avenue which is usually taken by the paranoid and anxiety ridden individual. I am sure that you know one of them. These are the people who are constantly making a big deal out of nothing, and become unusually nervous whenever confronted with something new. They concoct every possible hypothetical in their minds, and seem to never come up with a solution. Such a method does not work when dealing with the changes which confront home business owners. I would recommend that these individuals become tax accountants. No offense to any tax accountant out there, as I value your services.

4. Last, but certainly not least, is the most positive plan of attack for the home business owner. It is a realization that change is an inevitable part of life which should be embraced. People who take this approach realize that when we do not experience change, we do not experience positive evolution. Under Darwin’s theory, it is the survival of the fittest. Those home businesses which do not evolve to reflect the conditions of the environment will cease to exists.

These individuals not only accept change, they often are the catalyst to change. They realize that change is the root of positive events, and pulls us forward. Such an individual will own a home business which is fluid enough to keep up with market shifts, and suffer far less from an economic downturn. This group of individuals has the most success in home business.

Successful Home Business Opportunities, for years you’ve dreamed of being the owner of a successful business. One of the successful real home based businesses. You’ve even imagined your business at the top of the best home business list. The problem is you don’t know where to start.

Where you start is with an idea. Where, you might ask, do you the right idea for your business from the multitude of successful home based businesses available? Well, how about your own home?

That’s just one example of how easy Successful Home Business Opportunities are to create. In writing, there’s a rule about writing about what you know. The same is true for business: do what you know. Lawn care, childcare, pet sitting, the list is endless. Sit down and write a list of all the things you know how to do, then think of how you can turn any of those things into a business.

Because Successful Home Business Opportunities all have one thing in common: they found a need and filled it. Elderly people love to have their pets walked for them and their errands run for them. People today are all so strapped for time that they’ll pay, and pay well, to have their lawns taken care of. So think of what you know how to do and how those things can be turned into real home businesses.

Where is the market for my business? How do I get the news out about my business? Do I need to get a business license? Is my neighborhood zoned for at home businesses? Should I incorporate? Do I want or need a partner? Is there any equipment I need to buy? Where do I go for accounting services? Do I need liability insurance? Will I need to hire people to help me? What do I do about taxes? Do I need any special permits?

These are just some of the questions you need to consider when trying to build a business that joins the ranks of Successful Home Business Opportunities. But don’t freak out. You don’t have to have all the answers right away.

You do, however, need to have an idea of what your business will require in everything ranging from accounting to clean-up, if there is any, as you start and grow your business. Home Business Failures

While it is true many people from all walks of life and all over the world have succeeded in working online, many more have failed in their attempts. I am one of the lucky ones who have been able to have some reasonable success in a relatively short period of time…7 years. But for the purposes of this article I would like to focus on the most common mistakes people make when starting a home business and how you can avoid them.

When searching for a work at home job or business most people go to their search engine and type in “home business” “make money online” “work at home” or any combination they feel will result in answers for their search. On the first page of the search they usually click on the first couple of offers and if they like the look of the website will click and join the program. They might hesitate a few minutes to decide if they really have the money to send in, but they eventually succumb to the websites content.

This is the first mistake. They never do any research on the company they are sending their money into. They have no idea if this is the type of work at home business they want or can even do. They never ask questions such as: Is there a refund policy? Is there training? Are there any other costs involved? They just jump in the deep end of the lake without a life preserver!

These same individuals have a mindset that the money will start rolling in without their involvement. Now that they have joined a program they can now sit back and let others earn their money for them. Where they go wrong here is this: Like any business it takes effort and time to make money. Bill Gates did not become as rich as he is sitting and letting others do the work for him. Neither can the person who wants to work from home.

Then there are others who think that 1-2 hours a week will be sufficient to bring the money rolling into their hands. In truth, just like any other business, working 1-2 hours a week will get you nowhere. You can, if you are very lucky, start making progress if you devote 3-5 hours a DAY advertising, promoting, and working to get your business off the ground.

People fail in home business in part because they have no idea who they really are and what their goals are. Find out what you really want and how much time and effort you are willing to put into a task to achieve your goals. Write your goals out on a piece of paper; keep it in front of you at all times when you are working. Write down what you have to do in order to achieve your goals. Over time these goals will change and develop, but the basic goal of wanting a better life will stay the same.

Another item for failure is reinventing the wheel. I hope you know what this means; I am sure you do. When you join a legitimate home based program do not try to do things they way you think they should work. If the owner of the program is successful already and is willing to show you how to do it like they did, why would you want to do it differently? It is called “duplication”. It works for a reason. It has been tried and refined so that the next person to join has the advantage of years of learning and knowledge from their uplines. Don’t change the wheel!

Simple advice and common sense really for those of you who want to start a home based business. Investigate the programs before signing up, see what others have to say, if they are successful. Any program on the Internet, no matter how legitimate will have some negative comments. People who have failed at a program will say a negative comment, which is human nature. But read and decide for yourself before you join. Do Not Jump Into The Lake unprotected!
